The chosen coping mechanisms of people whose shoes I will never be in are on that list. I think that a nice, peaceful front porch is an understandable way to cope with a looming divorce. That being said, my mother re-did the bathrooms a couple of years ago and just put on a new front porch. As if that last bit of construction is going to make everything better and fix a marriage. It's as if they are substituting house remodeling for marriage remodeling. I never really understood that myself and I still ponder that 5 years after my parent's own divorce. <BR/> My mother deemed it necessary right before hand to remodel the bathrooms throughout the house. It was as if some kind of purification process was going to happen from the bathrooms.
